Thepla is a traditional Gujarati recipe that you can eat as a snack or you can carry during the journey. It is a very delicious dish that one appetite to eat.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 no. Bottle
Gourd(Lauki)
- 2 cup Wheat Flour
- 2 cup Sorghum Grains Flour
or 1 cup Corn Flour
- 1 tbsp Gram Flour
- 1 tsp Green Chili Paste(Chili + Ginger)
- 1 tsp Dry Turmeric
Powder
- 2 tsp Salt or as required
- 1+1 tbsp Vegetable
Oil
The easiest way to make a soft Bottle Gourd Thepla recipe.
➢Firstly, grate Lauki, drain water by pressing the grated Lauki, add all ingredients along with 1tbsp oil in it and mix all things very well, whisk it and make a dough as shown in the picture.
➢Note:
- [A]Try to remove most of the water from Lauki otherwise you need more wheat and others flour. Because we have to make dough same as roti or bhakhari and make the round shape as picture by the roll out through belan(pressing round pin) rollout.
- [B]If you do not have sorghum grains flour(Jvar Flour) then you can add cornflour ½ quantity other than sorghum flour.
➢After ready dough start roasting the Thepla, same as you make roti(round bread). You can use 1tbsp oil or butter also.
➢Roast Thepla until both sides of Thepla is
nicely roast.
➢Theplas are ready to serve.
➢You can eat along with pickles, curd, tomato
ketchup, or green fried chilis.
