Kapuriya(Gora No Lot) Recipe.

  1. Kapuriya is one of the best healthy Gujarati Dish that is made of flour of rice(coarsely ground) and others lentils such as Tuvar Dal, Chana Dal, etc.
  2. It is also called “Gora No Lot” in Gujarat.
  3. Kapuriya is also known as 'Steamed Rice-Lentils, Cakes' in English.

INGREDIENTS

Rice,Tuvar Dal,& Chana Dal.

(A). Preparation To Make Kapuriya.

Kapuriya/Gora No Lot - Ready to serve
  1. Firstly coarsely grind 2 cups of rice, in the mixer and keep it aside in one separate vessel.
  2. Secondly, grind coarsely 1 cup tuvar dal and keep it aside.
  3. Thirdly, coarsely grind ½ cup chana dal and mix it in tuvar dal flour.
  4. Fourthly, coarsely grind peanuts and mix them in tuvar and chana dal flour mixture.
  5. Fifthly, make a paste of green chili by taking 1inch Ginger + 8 pieces of green chili.

(B). 5 Steps To Cook Kapuriya.

STEP1

  • Now rest one bottom thick pan on high flame gas and fill up with 2 ½ glass of pure water.
  • Then add 1 tbs oil into the water.
  • After that add all mentioned ingredients except Rice Flour into water.

STEP2

  • When water starts boiling add all rice flour in it and stirs continuously it with the help of a rolling pin(belan) and slow down the gas flame. 
  • Stir continuously till all water is absorbed by the flour.

STEP3

  • After that turn off the gas flame and let the mixture cool down for ten minutes.
  • Now take a few mixtures of Kapuriya in hand and make the round shape as shown in the picture. Approximately seven numbers round shape Gora you can make from it.

STEP4

  • Then take an idli cooker and fill it with required water and rest one of its' dish (hole type) and put all Kapuriyas on hole type dish. Cover cooker's lid.

STEP5

  • It will take approximately 20 minutes and after that open the lid and check with help of a knife, by inserting a knife in Kapuriya. If the knife comes out in a dry position then understand that  Kapuriya is ready to serve.

(C).Process of tempering to Kapuriya.

  • You can serve those Kapuriya by cutting them into small pieces, along with vegetable oil, or by frying pieces of Kapuriya.
  • Take tadka pan with the required oil and rest on medium flame gas. After heating oil adds mustard seeds.
  • When mustard seeds getting crackling add asafetida. Turn off the gas flame and add this tempered over the piece of Kapuriya as shown in the picture.
After processing of tempering Kapuriya it is ready to serve.
